Scaffold Company offers quality, service, safety

For more than a decade, Atlantic Pacific Equipment Inc. (At-Pac) has been a full-service equipment supplier that uses its industry-leading expertise to provide a range of services to its clients in the industrial, power, paper, petrochemical, and oil and gas sectors.
As a direct manufacturer, the company is able to provide its services at the most competitive prices locally, regionally, nationally and internationally. In addition, as a privately owned corporation, At-Pac can provide creative solutions that are tailored to each individual business opportunity, which, company employees say, is At-Pac’s competitive advantage in the industry.

The At-Pac group of companies
At-Pac was founded in 1996 by James Thomas Davis Jr., who provided services to his clients that included forming and shoring products, and buying and selling scaffolding.
Soon, At-Pac became a surplus dealer, making large purchases of surplus inventories and then selling it to the company’s client base. This allowed At-Pac to develop many long-lasting relationships that have enabled the small business to expand its operations to become a leader in the scaffolding industry.
Over the years, At-Pac continued its growth and moved to a seven-acre facility in Marietta, Ga., which sits outside Atlanta. The company also became a direct manufacturer, importer and broker of new high-quality scaffolding, shoring and forming equipment. However, the company maintained its large used inventory for sales and rentals and continues to be known as a large surplus dealer.
In 2000, At-Pac branched out and expanded into the Northwest Canadian market and formed At-Pac Scaffold Services Inc. in Edmonton, Alberta. Operating on a five-acre facility, At-Pac Scaffold Services caters mainly to the petrochemical industry, supplying scaffold for major projects and offering project support to its clients.
Due to its success in and the knowledge of the industrial scaffold market, At-Pac opened a branch/distribution facility in Houston in 2005. Providing services for industrial projects, At-Pac’s Houston location carries a large inventory of new and used industrial scaffold equipment for both rental and sale.
Today, the At-Pac group of companies operates out of four locations in North America and consists of Atlantic Pacific Equipment, At-Pac Scaffold Services, and Wood Buffalo Scaffold Services Ltd., a Northwest Canadian-based scaffold service and labor company. Utilizing its three companies, At-Pac provides its clients with a wide range of services including:
‘ Labor — Wood Buffalo Scaffold Services is a full-service labor company in Western Canada that exceeds 500 employees.
‘ Engineering and design — At-Pac has industry-leading expertise in equipment design and has the capabilities to provide customized designs for the clients’ needs.
‘ Training — At-Pac and Wood Buffalo developed internal scaffold awareness programs that are derived from all industry standards, including OSHA, American National Standards Institute (ANSI), Canadian Standards Association (CSA), ASTM and many others.
‘ Facilitation — Whether working in North America or internationally, At-Pac can provide facilitation services in all parts of the world from equipment setup to receiving shipping goods.

Committed to quality, safety
As a manufacturing company, At-Pac has implemented and manages a strong QA/QC program that has been internally created by At-Pac personnel and is in accordance with domestic and international standards. With a strong focus on providing quality services, clients are guaranteed that the equipment At-Pac provides at a jobsite is the highest quality available.
At-Pac is also dedicated to maintaining safe operations within the company and at its jobsites, and uses proven policies that are put in place to ensure worker safety. Demonstrating the company’s commitment, At-Pac is proud of the safety record achieved by the company’s Wood Buffalo group, which has worked more than 2.3 million hours on a jobsite with no incidents.

Keeping clients happy
Throughout its 11-year history, At-Pac has provided scaffolding and labor services to many of the world’s largest companies.
One company that has enjoyed working with At-Pac is Bechtel Equipment (OUT) Operations. For approximately six years, At-Pac has provided the company with services that include scaffolding, shoring, engineering and design, training and labor.
“It has been a pleasure to work with At-Pac,” a procurement manager at Bechtel said. “They are very committed and have been able to support multiple projects in multiple countries at any given time, and they have been quick to resolve any issues that may come up.”
“At-Pac is best described as responsive, reliable and reasonable,” said a director at Bechtel. “They are proactive and engaged in our needs and schedules, and we can always count on exceptional performance and constant services. The company provides fair prices for excellent quality and service.”
A scaffold superintendent at Bantrel Equipment Services agrees that At-Pac provides top-notch service. Since 2001, Bantrel has used At-Pac Scaffolding Services on a variety of industrial projects, including several at PetroCanada.
“As we complete these world-class projects on time and on budget, At-Pac has been a company that we can count on for equipment, service and trained personnel to meet all of our scaffolding needs on site,” the superintendent said.
A director of resources for the east region at Brand Energy and Infrastructure Services has been working with At-Pac for more than a year, and has been pleased with the company’s service.
“I have found At-Pac’s responses to my material needs to be timely, fair and meet delivery and specification requirements,” the director said. “The At-Pac staff has shown themselves to be very knowledgeable of the products and market, and they are always ready to address my material needs in a prompt and professional manner.”

Expanding through relationships
Since 1996, At-Pac has progressed and matured through several different levels of the industry, and the company continues its development into a substantial corporation.
By developing strong joint-venture partnerships with onshore and offshore manufacturing facilities and by maintaining day-to-day relationships with its clientele, At-Pac has positioned itself as a major scaffold supplier for not only the North American market but also for markets around the world.
