AT-PAC established its presence in Australia with one clear mission: to deliver world-class scaffolding solutions built on innovation, safety, and reliability. This month, we are proud to celebrate this milestone alongside the customers, partners, and employees who have made the journey possible.

A Journey of Growth and Innovation

From our very first projects to supporting some of Australia’s most iconic and complex industrial facilities, AT-PAC Australia has continuously evolved to meet the needs of our customers. Over the past decade and a half, we have grown from a local provider into a trusted partner, recognized for delivering integrated scaffold solutions across multiple sectors, and 5 branch locations.

Key Milestones Over 15 Years

2010 – AT-PAC launches in Australia, introducing the globally trusted Ringlock System to the local market.

2013 – Established Global Site Solutions and Hi-Vis® Scaffold Management Software and deployed to Wheatstone LNG.

2015 – Establishment of our dedicated Australian based Design & Engineering team, enabling tailored solutions for high-risk and large-scale access needs.

2020 – Significant role in supporting LNG and energy sector projects, delivering some of the country’s most challenging scaffold builds.

Atlanta, GA – July 17, 2025 – AT-PAC, a global leader in industrial scaffolding solutions, has appointed Allan Hazzard as Managing Director – USA, underscoring the company’s strong commitment to scaling operations in one of its most critical markets.

With decades of experience in operational leadership and commercial strategy, Allan joined AT-PAC in 2024 to lead the Canadian business. His success in expanding AT-PAC’s footprint in Canada—marked by commercial momentum and organizational alignment—positions him well to drive the U.S. business through its next phase of growth.

AT-PAC USA Announces New VP Sales & Technical

AT-PAC is excited to announce the appointment of Mr. Mike Bredl as Vice President Sales & Technical-USA.

Mike brings over 35 years of experience in the scaffolding and access industry. Most recently, he served as the National Sales & Business Development Director at Universal Manufacturing Corporation, a company based in Zelienople, Pennsylvania, that engineers, manufactures, and distributes steel scaffolding, shoring, and custom-fabricated access equipment.

Over the course of his career, Mike has earned a formidable reputation as a respected industry leader, known for his technical expertise, customer-focused approach, and deep industry relationships. He has been an active member of the Scaffold & Access Industry Association (SAIA) since 1987 and currently serves as its President. His involvement has included organizing regional scaffold safety conferences, authoring industry articles, and serving on the SAIA Board of Directors.

In his new role, Mike will lead AT-PAC’s national technical and sales development initiatives across the United States, with a focus on expanding market presence, strengthening customer partnerships, and driving strategic growth.

AT-PAC Hosts Denver Branch Open Day

On Friday, October 4, 2024, AT-PAC hosted their first branch open day at their newest branch location in Denver, CO.

The Denver Branch officially opened in January of this year, making a significant milestone in the expansion of AT-PAC. This addition allows us to strengthen our presence in the Rockies & the United States, further solidifying our commitment to providing top-tier scaffolding solutions to our clients.

The Open Day coincided with the SAIA Annual Convention which allowed customers from all over North America, and beyond, to easily attend and get an in-depth look at an AT-PAC branch. The day kicked off with brief presentations from some of the AT-PAC team, providing an interesting outlook at AT-PAC's future across the region.

The rest of the day was spend with scaffold solutions demonstrations, branch yard tours, lunch and refreshments, and mingling with industry peers.

The CONEXPO CON-AGG Expo, North America's largest construction show, was a momentous success as construction stakeholders from all over the world gathered in Las Vegas from March 13th to 18th. In collaboration with Doka , AT-PAC debuted its Ringlock system scaffold, innovative accessories, and Hi-Vis® Scaffold Management Software.

Hi-Vis Software is a planning and process controls tool for managing scaffold resources efficiently, with a focus on maximizing labor productivity and product utilization. It provides scaffold management solutions for projects of any size, with the flexibility to deploy application modules independently or as a cohesive scaffold solution. Hi-Vis® also includes data analytics and dashboard reporting, giving project managers visibility into the scaffolding work process and supporting construction schedules while increasing cost predictability and mitigating project risks.

AT-PAC’s signature Ringlock scaffolding display, standing 16 meters, was designed to be visible from across the showground, and included a Ringlock stair access solution for visitors to access the booth, as well as a large ‘selfie’ photo deck for visitors to enjoy the view. The display included solutions such as large span bridging, accessories such as telescopic bracing, HD quad shoring arrangement and an innovative 4.0m cantilever platform supporting a double-sided LED screen.

AT-PAC’s North American Technical Manager, Shane Carroll on the design of the display, “ We had limited space to design and build the display and couldn’t secure the structure to the ground. With our innovative design approach, we managed to overcome these challenges and showcase an impressive scaffold by utilizing counterweights and steel cable for stability. The scaffold crew at Leading Edge did a great job to finish the install on time, safely.”

We would like to congratulate Josh Dundon on being promoted to the new Chief Executive Officer of AT-PAC based out of our global headquarters in Atlanta, GA, USA.

Josh first joined AT-PAC in 2016, initially leading our Project Services and Solutions division, Global Site Solutions (GSS) , supporting strategic customers and major project opportunities.

In 2019, Josh transitioned into a regional leadership role for AT-PAC and was responsible for our North America region. In 2021, Josh became responsible for the overall global operations of our organization as our Chief Operating Officer. During this time Josh played a key role in the development of the operating partnership with Doka and in January 2023, Josh became the CEO of AT-PAC, now 100% part of the Doka family .

Doka , one of the world's leading suppliers of formwork with headquarters in Amstetten, Austria, completed the 100% acquisition of scaffolding manufacturer AT-PAC. Both companies initially partnered in 2020 to provide comprehensive global site solutions. The acquisition positions Doka as a single source for formwork and scaffolding for the global construction industry and strengthens the company’s new global business segment, "Industrial Scaffolding". For AT-PAC this means full access to a global market.

The potential for cooperation between the formwork expert and the US headquartered scaffolding specialist was already impressively demonstrated at bauma 2022 in Munich and generated significant interest from customers worldwide. Doka and AT-PAC highlighted their strong partnership and successful collaboration with a dual-branded stand that was visited by over 100,000 visitors. AT-PAC SUPPLIES RINGLOCK FOR STEEPLE REPAIR ON THE HISTORIC DON LOVE MEMORIAL LIBRARY

AT-PAC supplied their client a modular Ringlock scaffold system as a temporary structure for the steeple repair and maintenance at the Don Love Memorial Library in Lincoln, Nebraska. The scaffold solution designed and supplied for the steeple repair required system connections to an ‘as built’ structure for access.

Customer Challenges:

Our client was limited by restrictions on the foot traffic and access to the building, its' lower balcony, and roof. The historical landmark and steeple structure boasts fine external design elements that are impossible to replicable, if damaged. The temporary work platform had to be lightweight, functional, and provide the field crew optimal space to complete the work. AT-PAC design and engineering team had to implement quick turnarounds on both their drawing modifications and corresponding calculations to the city and building's owners for approval.

Solution: AT-PAC’s Design and Engineering Team used their industry knowledge and vast field experience to design a scaffold structure that was efficient and easy to install, using the existing material stocked in their (hire) rental fleet. AT-PAC's Modular Ringlock systems adaptability for use around circular structures and high strength components was the perfect fit for this local landmark. Doka has acquired a major stake of AT-PAC. Both AT-PAC & Doka formed an initial partnership in 2020 to deliver comprehensive global construction site solutions and has been expanding its footprint ever since. AT-PAC TAKES ON TRANSPORT REPAIR PROJECT IN WESTERN AUSTRALIA

AT-PAC reduced man-hours substantially for the TLO bin roof project in Western Australia. The TLO bin roof was heavily damaged and corroded by moisture and needed to be replaced. AT-PAC provided abstract designs to build cantilevered scaffold modules on the ground and then craned them into positions surrounding the TLO bins. AT-PAC not only saved hours for this client on labor while conserving direct cost efficiency on this project.

The foundation focuses on the prevention and early intervention of depression, anxiety, and suicide. Since 2017, The Push-Up Challenge has seen over 250,000 participants and raised over $16 million for mental health and suicide prevention.

AT-PAC DESIGN & ENGINEERING - EMERGENCY STAIR TOWER FOR COAL MINE

AT-PAC provided an advanced Design & Engineering solution for an emergency stair tower scaffold as requested by a mine operator in Australia. The scaffold had to be installed between two coal bins for emergency access & egress use during routine maintenance work. AT-PAC utilized the Ringlock system scaffold standard components, and the lightweight Ringlock Aluminum Platform Stair was integrated into the core tower. The customer requested the stair tower to reach a maximum height of 37m and bridge across to a permanent walkway at the top of coal bins. Tie connections between the scaffold and adjacent bins were provided by installing custom fabricated structural steel frames at two elevations (3.6m and 23.7m) 20m apart.

AT-PAC designed a solution to overcome the 20m span between ties by installing large 1.0m aluminum beams vertically connected to Ringlock Ledgers. This provided the necessary horizontal restraint required to stabilize the slender scaffold structure. The AT-PAC team produced the engineered drawings and supplied the Ringlock material from our regional branch-based network.

Our engineered solution reduced man-hours to install additional ties and created safe access and egress solution that was erectable and optimized the material requirements.

AT-PAC partnered with QED Scaffolding, who were commissioned to provide scaffold access to allow the inspection, removal, and replacement of Cladding on Bradstowe House. Our engineers worked with the client's design engineer, RDG, to provide working drawings, including Splayed and Beamed sections. The design also enabled ease of adaption as the project went through numerous phases. Allowing for quick installation and removal of an inside handrail as and when required. The open working platform within the system also allows easy access to materials along the run.

San Lorenzo Theater Restoration

Having been closed since 1982, the San Lorenzo Theater experienced an unexpected fire two years ago that left the Alameda County theater in shambles. AT-PAC’s long-time customer Leading Edge Scaffolding secured the scaffold portion of the restoration.

The scope was to install a scaffold to secure a temporary roof to protect the murals inside from weather conditions. AT-PAC’s Ringlock System scaffold was used to enclose the building to provide a weatherproof, safe access walking-working platform for restoration crews to use. Aluminum/ Ply Hatch decks were used to provide integrated Ladder access to reduce the amount of scaffold material required, as well as reduce the footprint of the scaffold.

These special six-packs have been provided to local customers as a gift to be enjoyed over the holidays.

No Label isn’t a typical brewery. Their focus on events, karaoke, and weekly bingo make them an anchor for community camaraderie and fun to be around. They became an easy choice to help out with our special brew that we know our customers will love six times over.

This easy-to-install plank allows the use of fewer wooden boards for circular applications. Similar to Ringlock Planks, these are designed to locate Ringlock Ledgers fixed at 90° quickly and easily.

Modern construction often involves awkward shapes as opposed to the much more common straight lines of the past. With the 45° Corner Plank’s ability to help with circular applications, it’s very helpful for unorthodox shapes that may not be perfectly straight angles.

DEMOLITION OF OUR ICONIC EDMONTON TOWER

It’s not every day we get to demolish a building at one of our Branch locations...

But that's exactly what we did a couple of weeks ago at our Edmonton branch in Canada.

The AT-PAC tower has been a staple for residents, employees, and our customers over the many years of operating from our flagship branch in Canada.

Due to health and safety reasons, the old, deteriorating concrete silo tower had to be demolished and removed from the yard. It began to prove uneconomical to continue to repair the tower.

The tower served as a security tower and earlier as a concrete filling station silo.

Our Inside Sales Representative Tyler Corrigal on seeing the demolition: “Watching it come down was extremely exciting and now we have lots of additional space to work and service our scaffold material for our customers!”

Josh Dundon joined AT-PAC in 2016, initially leading the Global Site Solutions (GSS) business supporting strategic customers and major project opportunities. In 2019, Josh transitioned into the regional leadership role for AT-PAC, responsible for the overall strategic leadership, and the operational and financial performance for the North American region. His transformational leadership approach motivates our team and helps define our culture. We are pleased that now more than ever, Josh will be a critical asset to our company’s global operation as our Chief Operating Officer.

Josh has built up over 15 years of experience in various roles, commencing his career working with an international multi-services industrial company in Australia. The early beginnings of AT-PAC started with founder and chairman of the board Tom Davis who started AT-PAC out of Tucker, Georgia. Here, AT-PAC identified a niche market buying, selling, and brokering used equipment throughout North America. After experiencing success in North America Tom then invested into AT-PAC’s Industrial Scaffold Supply division, acquiring a scaffold labor business in Canada. The ACCOUNTS PAYABLE SPECIALIST here at AT-PAC is responsible for meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers. This role requires an individual who can be counted on to exceed goals successfully, is constantly and consistently one of the top performers, very bottom-line oriented, and steadfastly pushes self and others for results.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Invoice coding/entry

This position is responsible for entering invoices that come to the Global HQ office. Branch AP is managed by the individual branches.
Employee expense reimbursement input and coding.

Supplier payments/communication

Initiate weekly check runs based on cash availability and payments due.
Wire initiation, when applicable, to domestic and international suppliers.
Professional and effective communication with suppliers, when necessary.

Corporate card statement management, distribution, and coding

AT-PAC has a large number of employees that travel and carry corporate cards. The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for gathering the monthly statements online and distributing them to the necessary participants for receipts, details, and approval.

Inter-company billing

AT-PAC is a global company with operations in the US, Canada, Australia, UK, Asia, and South America. Thus, intercompany invoices are a large part of the Global HQ Accounts Payable process.

Assist with daily/weekly cash flow forecasting

Complete the daily bank reconciliation process within the company ERP (Epicor).

Assist with month-end close process

Provide research support where necessary during the month-end close process.

File organization

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Associates and/or Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred, and/or equivalent work experience; degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or closely related field strongly preferred, but not required.
Minimum 3-5 years of accounts payable experience, or equivalent business experience required.
Ability to perform well in a high-paced, quick turnaround environment.
Detail-oriented with strong organization and documentation skills.
Experience using Microsoft Excel, intermediate level
Have a customer base mindset
Ability to communicate effectively throughout the organization both in person and through written correspondence and over the phone.

The efficiency and quality of every construction project depend to a large extent on the equipment you use. We are confident that the scaffolding materials we design and manufacture are among the best in the world, but — like any other piece of equipment on your job site — their long-term functionality requires ongoing inspection and maintenance.

From a safety standpoint, we recommend that all individual scaffolding parts and accessories are inspected prior to being used, and when the components are returned to the yard, or staging areas. We also recommend that all scaffold assemblies or structures should be inspected and tagged prior to being used, so that the end user can clearly identify what the scaffold is to be used for.

Confirm that all scaffolding components are in place and secure: Wedges, bolts, nuts, spigots… even the smallest component must be present and secure to ensure safety.

Mid Transoms

Use the Mid Transom to create Plank support anywhere within a bay. Install hooks at each end of the transom over the Ledgers. A horizontal wedge at one end secures the Transom from sliding out of position. The Mid Transom is ideal for creating large openings in a platform.

Ledger to Plank Transoms

The Ledger to Plank Transom method is similar to the Mid Transom method except for the Ledger to Plank Transom method secures to a Ledger at one end and rests on a Ringlock Plank at the other. Think of the planks as a makeshift ladder. Because the chute may run five to 20 feet deep into boilers, you also need to secure a lifeline or slack line for workers to attach themselves too.

Start at the center line of the hopper and create a square base that will fit in the bottom, usually three 3×3 feet to 4×4 feet.
Since the slope is very steep, start stepping out in all four directions with small bays for ease of erection.

Work your way out to the hopper walls to create planked working levels.
Finish to the top of the hopper.

Fortunately, scaffolding containment helps protect your job site and workers from extreme cold so you can maintain optimal levels of performance and complete the job on time. Here is a closer look at how to ensure scaffolding safety in extremely cold weather.

Scaffolding Containment

Scaffolding safety starts with containment, which protects your job site using material that surrounds the scaffolding structure. This material is also known as hoarding. Common types of hoarding include plywood and tarp.

The application process starts by laying the hoarding material you select across the scaffold. Then, a fire blanket or other fire-retardant material is placed on the floor on top of the hoarding material. All materials should be bound tightly to form an adequate seal.

When you use an enclosure it puts extra wind loads into the structure and it could lift up like a huge sail. Therefore, special design is required when sheeting is used on the outside of scaffolding. Butts, ties, and diagonals are required every other lift vertically.

Elements to Consider

Sufficient access and egress are critical elements to hoarding design. Make sure there is enough room for uninhibited movement to and from the hoarding, while maintaining sufficient containment.

Quality designs include a “Weather Strip” that provides an overlap to keep it sealed up tight. Typically, a secondary containment room and an adjacent changing room are also incorporated in the design when hazardous containment applications are needed. Components such as the Ten Leg Steel Stair, Aluminum Platform Stair, and Vertical Ladder can all be used to create a secondary containment room.

1. Roof Support

Another critical element to a hoarding design is an adequately designed and framed roof. A roof helps support the buildup of water, ice, and snow. It also protects against environmental hazards such as waste, dirt, and rust, or any overhead hazard that could fall or be placed on the hoarding roof.

2. Adequate Ventilation

Adequate ventilation within the hoarding should remain a top priority for scaffolding safety. Continuously monitor the hoarding atmosphere based on the standards from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, or the Occupational Health & Safety Codes of Canada. Typically, this monitoring includes but is not limited to:

Oxygen (O2)
Lower Explosive Limit (LEL)
Carbon Monoxide (CO)
Thermal/Smoke and Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S)

SCAFFOLDING SAFETY: 5 STEPS TO TAKE BEFORE ERECTING SCAFFOLDING

Everyday, dozens or even hundreds of people – friends and coworkers, beloved sons, daughters, fathers, and mothers – trust their lives and their livelihoods to safe and effective scaffolding solutions.

Scaffolding safety is of prime importance. By definition, these movable, adjustable, customizable construction tools can either prevent or cause dangerous conditions at the job site, depending on how well they function, and how they are used.

On-the-job hazards, close calls, or faulty equipment can have a dramatic impact on productivity and profit. Unsafe conditions not only reduce the enthusiasm of workers on the job site, but can also cause an accident to evolve into a costly lawsuit or workers’ compensation claim.

A holistic approach to scaffolding safety on the job site must take into account external threats, visitors, and the surrounding environment. Here are five steps to proactively create a safe job site before erecting scaffolding.

2. Evaluate Site Conditions

Ground conditions must be evaluated to ensure an adequate E&D process can proceed. However, geotechnical concerns like erosion potential or a high water table are not seen by the naked eye.

In addition, if you are working on industrial or multi-craft sites, coordinate with nearby trades before erection begins to ensure:

No overhead work is being performed (e.g. cranes, manlifts, overhead structures or mezzanines, etc.). If so, guard against struck by hazards.
No blasting is planned that may compromise E&D or structure post erection.
No nearby excavations are happening, which could compromise soil or base

3. Create a Field Level Risk Assessment (FLRA)

A field level risk assessment (FLRA) is used to examine operational and procedural systems on a daily basis to identify hazards that may be necessary to protect workers at a site. By completing a FLRA prior to any work being done on site, possible risks and hazards are identified early and procedures can be put in place to suggest ways for controlling risks and keeping the site safe. It may include the use of some forms or checklists such as:

Process of erection, which can minimize the hazards associated with the overall process
Bracing plan
Material Handling procedures
Power lines
Inclement weather
Loading Capacity for occupants throughout E&D as well as use. For example, will the structure be sufficient for the intended purpose? Does the structure meet criteria where it would need to be ‘engineered’ vs erected by a competent person?
Establish ‘Pass Line’ and methods of communication for materials to be hoisted and lowered

4. Create a Rescue Plan

A rescue plan should be mapped out for workers to refer to throughout the E&D process. Creating this before erecting scaffolding gives you time to add the proper materials to your inventory to have them on hand in the case of an emergency.

5. TRAIN, TRAIN, TRAIN your staff

When OSHA revised scaffolding safety standards in 1996, studies by the Bureau of Labor Statistics found that 25% of workers involved in scaffolding accidents had not received safety training. As a manager, you can reduce the risk for your crew by conducting proper OSHA and equipment-specific safety training. OSHA training is designed to protect employees from common hazards such as falls, falling objects, structural instability, and overloading.

Review processes for material handling, power lines, inclement weather, and load-carrying capacity to keep these potential hazards top of mind and add to the list when needed. As workers get accustomed to a job site, they are less likely to be on alert to potential safety issues. A regular review of your FLRA can help prevent oversight and avoid simple mistakes that could affect job site safety.
