AT-PAC enables uninterrupted construction at Huddinge Kommunhus through extreme winter conditions

Together with its partners Sydställningar and Scaffco, AT-PAC enabled uninterrupted construction progress in the heart of Sweden, proving that even the harshest winters do not have to dictate project timelines. For the redevelopment of Huddinge Kommunhus, a robust temporary roofing solution was essential to ensure safe, efficient, year-round construction. The answer came in the form of two weather protection roofs installed side by side: the Mammut roof covering the city hall and the Scaffix solution protecting the library, designed not merely to resist the elements, but to remove weather as a risk altogether.

Roofing 10 m above the building

A specially developed beam connection anchors the structure at 12 m, extending a further 10 m above the building.

Roofing 10m over the building

A specially developed beam connection anchors the structure to the building at a height of 12 meters and extends a further 10 metres upward.

With few core components to setup most of the main scaffolding applications, Ringlock stands for high efficiency.

The wide range of accessories complements the simplicity of the rosette and wedge head connection, where a set of core components is assembled to create a stiff and safe access solution.

Scaffix Roof System

Allround system with very high design flexibility.

SCAFFIX® can be configured to be highly effective at small, medium, and large spans.

Rosettes at each 50 cm

Built for massive spans, Mammut features 1.8-meter beams for robust, large-scale coverage with remarkably quick assembly.

Weather as the biggest risk to construction progress

In large municipal construction projects like the Huddinge Municipal Building, weather is not a minor inconvenience, it is one of the main production risks.

Common challenges include:

Weather disruptions cause delays, safety risks, and rising costs, making schedules unpredictable especially in colder months. This often forces projects to slow down instead of maintaining steady progress.

The right systems for year-round construction

The project is supported by AT-PAC, a global scaffolding and engineering solutions provider with proven experience in complex public, infrastructure, and industrial construction projects. AT-PAC delivers engineered, project-specific solutions with a strong focus on safety, structural reliability, and predictable execution.

Maintain continuous production and reduce schedule uncertainty

To manage weather risk and protect the schedule, the project utilizes Scaffco temporary roof systems, including Scaffix and Mammut. Designed for demanding Nordic conditions, these systems provide reliable protection against rain, snow, wind, and low temperatures, enabling stable working conditions across all seasons.

Start building your roofing solution

The Huddinge Kommunhus project clearly demonstrates what advanced weather protection truly enables: continuity. By removing climate as a limiting factor, AT-PAC solutions help contractors extend their productive season, safeguard their workforce, and protect critical deadlines. Whether facing snow, wind, or rain, AT-PAC systems are designed to carry the load -sometimes quite literally-so projects keep moving, no matter the season.

"The Huddinge Kommunhus project highlights AT PAC's ability to deliver complete access and weather protection solutions through strong local partnerships. By combining advanced systems, technical expertise, and close cooperation with Sydställningar and Scaffco, we supported a safe, efficient, and high quality construction process. This project is a strong reference for AT PAC's growing presence in Sweden."

Country Manager - AT-PAC Sweden

"Working alongside AT PAC, we supported the scaffolding solution with two different roof systems installed side by side on the same site. AT PAC's Ringlock system formed the backbone of the project, and by integrating our Scaffix and Mammut roof solutions, we were able to meet varying span and load requirements between the two side by side structures. This combined approach resulted in one of the most

unique temporary roof projects ever.
